RASS Estimate provides the easy and quick ways to setup and configure a new estimation project by modeling it with use of a generic profile or any previous estimation project. Though setup and configuration requires lots of information to be entered. However, the use of generic profiles and the reuse of previous projects simplify and expedite the creation of a new estimation project a simple and enjoyable experience.

Project setup defines some critical information such as the configuration of Cost and Price sheet, a profile that supplies parameters for calculation of estimates. Estimation Project's Setup information is updated through a tabbed form as shown on the left side.  The following briefly describes the information covered by these tabs.

Reference tab: Project Name,Estimates Reference Number,Estimation Stage,Requester's Name,Requested on Date,Project Type,Project Ref,SDLC Stage, Estimation Delivery Date

Scope tab: The background and purpose of the estimation project and the scope of estimation.

Constraints tab: Reference project's start and completion dates and remarks, availability of Resources and Facilities

Inputs tab: Input documents and the location of these documents

Team tab: Information about Team Leader, Estimator, Reviewers and Approvers
Cost Sheet tab: Configuration of Cost and Price sheet

Reports tab: The list of estimation reports required
Config. Profile tab: The configuration profile on which this estimation project is based.

Stat tab: Historical information about project's creation, last opened, last closed, last changed and approved date.

RASS Estimate allow you to use one or more estimation models together in the same Estimation Project and configure claculation of estimates through the use of profiles. This and other configuration information is updated through a tabbed form as shown on to the left. The profile used by the estimation project is also modified through this form. The following briefly describes the information covered by various tabs.

Methods tab: Select one or more estimation models covering functional as well as non-functional requirements.

Work Time tab: Define the reference project’s working time, effort display unit and in-house average labour rate.

SDLC Adjustment tab: Life Cicle adjustment parameters.

SDLC Phases tab: Define reference project's life cycle phases and distribution the project’s schedule among the SDLC phases.

Disciplines tab: Define functional disciplines representing departments or work centres and distribution of effort and resource capacity.

Effort Distribution tab: Table showing how estimated effort are distributed in a SDLC phases x Disciplines matrix
