RASS Estimate stores estimation data and Estimation Templates in MS SQL Server database. Users Logon and Estimation Project's Access Control have been implemented as MS Access ADP client server application. Estimation Templates are MS Excel applications that interect directly with MS SQL Server database.

After logon, a user can either open an existing estimation project or create a new estimation project. At the end of this step an Estimation Template is automatically loaded to client computer and opened for user interaction.

Once the estimation template is opened, you can work offline and save the changes  to MS SQL Server database whenever required. Now ,user can configure the estimation methods in the templates, make estimation data entry and finally print estimation reports or create a pdf of the estimation reports.

User interface also has the functionality to upload the offline created Excel estimation templates and other documents such as help files, pdf reports, Power Point presentations into the SQL Server database.

There is also provision to enter and analyse the actual effort and schedule measurements for calibrating various estimation methods such as CoCuSi estimation model.

The following figure shows the application architecture implemented in the Estimation Templates.  The following are the main building blocks of Estimation Template User Interface.

       - Estimation Projects

       - Estimation Models

       - Sizing Methods

       - Estimation data

       - Estimation Reports

The Estimation Templates and the data required to populate the building blocks of Estimation Templates are stored in the MS SQL Server Database. The user interface implemented in Estimation Templates directly interects the MS SQL Server database.

This architecture allows offline as well as online working of RASS Estimate.

Further details of the user interface implemented in Estimation Templates is available in MS Word Document.
